Biography
Swedish Black Metal outfit Lord Belial have carved their name deep into the cold stone of extreme metal history. Formed in 1992 amidst the chaos of Europe’s second wave of Black Metal, the band unleashed their seminal debut “Kiss the Goat” in 1995. Over the next three decades, they would go on to release a total of nine studio albums, seamlessly blending raw Black Metal aggression with melodic, Death Metal infused dynamics; a signature sound that’s earned them comparisons to the likes of Dissection and marked classics like “Enter the Moonlight Gate”, “Unholy Crusade”, and “Nocturnal Beast”!
After a lengthy hiatus following 2008’s “The Black Curse”, Lord Belial re-emerged stronger than ever. Their triumphant return came with 2022’s “Rapture”, produced by Andy LaRocque (King Diamond, Death) at Sonic Train Studios. LaRocque praised the band’s ferocity and maturity, calling it “one of their best albums so far.”
Now, Lord Belial enters 2025 with sharpened steel and unholy fire, ready to unveil their new studio album, “Unholy Trinity”. Expect nothing less than a masterclass in Swedish Black Metal supremacy; melding haunting melody, relentless speed, and atmospheric grandeur into an all-consuming force.
